Square Enix Mystery Game Revealed - The Four Warriors Of Light2/7/2009
by Nickgio,

I hope that you've visited the site about a new game Square Enix is ready to lauch.
Well scans from the latest Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump reveal the full art of the
website and also screens from the game.

The game is The Four Warriors Of Light, read the full article below by Kotaku.

Square Enix's mystery countdown title is a mystery no longer,
as scans from the latest Weekly Shonen Jump reveal The Four Warriors of Light: A Final Fantasy Anecdote.

At least that's the way the game's name translates according to our own Brian Ashcraft,
who pored over the scans to glean what information her could. The Four Warriors of light,
the name of which was uncovered in a trademark filing earlier this month, is a traditional turn-based
roleplaying game for the Nintendo DS that tells the story of a boy trying to save a princess.
The scans contain scant details other than when you change equipment, your character's appearance
changes, which is a feature that many RPG fans salivate over. This supplemental Final Fantasy
adventure is on its way to Japan this fall.

Now that we know what the countdown image will eventually look like,
we can go back to doing more productive things in the middle of the night, like sleeping.

Square Enix soon to anounce a new game1/7/2009
by Nickgio,

A few days ago Square Enix japan launced a new teaser site propably for a new NDS game.
Though the site gives us some clues about the content we really can't tell yet.

But the most interesting part of the story is the site itself.Visiting the site here.
You'll see a flash beeing loaded then the site launches it's just a simple
scetch, a countdown timer and the number 4.

Well the number is the only thing not chaning there. As times passes and the timer on the site
runs out every day a new part of the picture is revealed.

At first there was just the background, then a dragon, then a boy riding him and now a girl too!

So keep visiting and watch out for any more changes!

Atoms v0.529/6/2009
This is a really fun game for the DS.
By atoms they mean atoms and chemistry and all that i don't really understand!
But the game is really fun.

Your objective is to destroy all other atoms.
You'll have more fun playing this multiplayer, believe me!

From the Readme:

Objective:
Destroy all the other players Atoms.

How to play
Each player takes it in turn to place an atom.
This atom can either be placed on the an empty
square or on top of one of the players existing atoms.
Atoms will go critical and explode if the same number of atoms
are placed on the square as there are surrounding squares.
(e.g corners take 2, edges take 3 and centre take 4)

When an atom goes critical and explodes it will place new atoms
horizontally and vertically around the square.  Any atoms already
in those squares will be increased in size and become the property
of the player that started the explosion.

Chain reactions are the key part of the game.

Changelog:

     V0.5
        *Play order is randomised.
*Play order is shown at top of screen.
        *Game can now be paused.
*Game can be quit from pause screen.

DSKiosk v1.229/6/2009
Another DS application for today.

This time is DSKiosk this great piece of software makes your DS more like
an iPod Touch, well not exactly but you get the point.

It's actually a homebrew organizer, if you ever used it before, you can add shorcuts
for your favourite homebrew and launch them from there.

The enviroment is actually very nice and with the ability to configure it to your needs well....
You can add png images to your shorcuts so it can be more pleasing to the eye.
Each png image should be 16bits, 64x48.

Keep in mind though that not all flashcards are supported yet.

Changelog:

  • v1.2 (June 16, 2009) : This new version adds support for multiple work spaces, very practical to reorganize your applications. Just move your stylus on the touchscreen horizontaly to switch from one work space to another. Read the using DsKiosk on this page and the setup page for futher details. In the settings panel, buttons have now a sort of auto-repeat function : maintain pressure on them, and they will repeat their action (useful to scroll through very long lists).

  • v1.12b (R4) (Mar 8, 2009) : DsKiosk is finally working on R4/M3 linkers (thanks again Michael 'Fenrir' and all beta-testers for their help). The ZIP file now contains two binaries : dskiosk.nds and dskiosk-r4.nds. Use the latter if you own a R4/M3 or if the regular dskiosk.nds won't run on your linker.

  • v1.12b (Jan 8, 2009) : bugfix : if no INI file was found, DsKiosk wouldn't go any further

Remote Touch DS v0.229/6/2009
Now for some DS news, again this is a bit outdated but i think we should post them
since the new site has just been launced.

Remote Touch DS gives you the ability to to control your PC's mouse and keyboard
remotely from your DS.
It's based on a client server model and apparently you need to set up a server application
in your PC for it to work.

I don't think more need to be said on this, download it and judge for yourselfs!

Changelog:

    0.2.2 (hotfix)
      * Minor changes on the server backend - possible problem with shutdown/restart on XP (maybe) fixed.

   0.2.1 (hotfix)
     * Not able to connect properly when manually inputting connection data now fixed.
