Warragamba Catchment

Located around 65 kilometres west of Sydney, Warragamba Dam is one of the largest domestic water supplies in the world. The water is collected from an area of 9 050 square kilometres, inlcuding the Wollondilly and Coxs River systems, to form Lake Burragorang behind Warragamba Dam. Lake Burragorang contains about 4 times the water volume of Sydney Harbour and supplies around 4 million people in Sydney and surrounding areas, making it the largest urban water supply in Australia.
