Peace Prize awarded for efforts to raise awareness about climate change and how to respond to it. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the Nobel peace Prize 2007 to the Intergovernmental Planel on Climate Change and Al Gore "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change".
