19/3/2007 - Reflections In Concrete ...

Melbourne, passing through Flinders Street Station, the heart of this noisy, stinking beast. A brief ray of sunshine is hunted down and digested.
The smothering of what used to be air, the sickening feeling that threatens to engulf me, each time I come near this concrete asylum.
Below the surface, travelling within this mass transit caterpillar, through the seemingly endless labyrinth, home to the commercial beast.
Briefly blinding daylight, and I can see concrete villages. They are decorated by spray cans, and occupied by artificial plants and plastic people ...

I love Flinders Street Station. There is something romantic about the concept of meeting a new love under the clocks at Flinders Street. People have been doing it for years.
