Don't forget that many people, including myself, keep a blog so that other members of their family can be kept up to date on what they are doing. When you talk to family membersthat you don't see often, you can't always recall all the little doings at that time so a blog is very useful in this way. It also helps me in particular to keep a record of what I have done.
Not everyone is a creative writer and write deeply meaningful articles, but what we write will be of interest to someone, even if others are not interested.

I know what you mean baby. I, like rikki, started mine up as a way of family keeping up to date but I'm starting to wonder if I can be bothered any more.

as always I do get a surprise to realise anyone reads what I'm writing in this blog. Thanks rikki & catdog, you are members of a pretty exclusive club! Sorry for sounding like an old cynic. I know the family aspect can be important and I do have friends who keep irregular blogs that I check out every now and then to see if they've posted pics so I can see how the kids have grown - but I don't want to read about their daily lives in detail. I am probably in the minority but I never was one for having the sorts of friends that want a blow by blow description of my day or my life. My best friend lives 3 hours away in a little house in the middle of 50 acres and I see her a couple of times a year. We both like it that way. We're all different, I'm probably not very nice .... except I really would like to save every poor person and mistreated animal in the world! Keep writing ... I'll call in and read your blogs sometimes!

To be honest, whilst I would not read some one's diary, if some one makes something public, I'll always have a look. Especially as something of a consumer of pop culture. I agree on your call that very few are interesting or remarkable, but that's kind of like any place where you hear what's going on with people.
