Egret behaviour

Posted at 2:21 PM, Saturday 15 March 2008

On my recent visit to the Egrets, I managed to capture a couple of events in a series of photos.

The first shows an Egret regurgitate what looks like an eel. What I can't understand is the egret that is wanting to be fed, looks to be the same age as the one giving the food.

The Egret wanting to be fed opens his beak and closes it over the other Egrets beak. The Egret starts to regurgiate the eel.It keeps coming. The eel has been fully regurgiated. This is the last shot of the Egret as the meal goes down. Before I show the next sequence, I could not believe how many turtles were sunning themselves on the banks of the creek. This next sequence shows a turtle taking one look at me and then trying to escape. The moment before he takes the plunge. My last sequence shows what happens when you are sitting on another Egrets perch. Watch the Egret coming up on the left.
