- Maybe I wanted to hear it so badly that my ears betrayed my mind in order to secure my heart.
- It is the province of knowledge to speak and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen.
- Have regard for your name, since it will remain for you longer than a great store of gold.
- Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.
- All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
- So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.
- Everything that is new or uncommon raises a pleasure in the imagination, because it fills the soul with an agreeable surprise, gratifies its curiosity, and gives it an idea of which it was not before possessed.
- It is the eye of ignorance that assigns a fixed and unchangeable color to every object; beware of this stumbling block.
- Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.
- Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!
- Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom.
- Forgiveness is the answer to the child's dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again, what is soiled is made clean again.
- Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
-All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.
-Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is an unalterable law.
-Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.
-There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.
-Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
-When one has the feeling of dislike for evil, when one feels tranquil, one finds pleasure in listening to good teachings; when one has these feelings and appreciates them, one is free of fear.
-Dreams are the touchstones of our character.
-An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
