Return of My Blog

Posted at 6:15 AM, Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Hi all, In case you haven't noticed, this space has been pretty darn empty in recent weeks. We've enjoyed a wonderful visit from my parents, and made it through the Jewish holidays and the kids' spring vacation. Mostly, we've been trying to find a new place to live and figuring out the most efficient way to pack up and move. I admit the moving process has me very frazzled with few excess neurons to write any blog entries. But I do miss it!

My plan is to relaunch the blog after we move to our new home (hopefully) and close up the old one. That would put the first new blog entry around the time of the Melbourne Cup horse race on November 6. I'll hope to see you then.

Hi, Rabbi

Betty Mae Siegal's son died of a heart attack last week. He was 48 years old, a widower. He left behind two teenage sons, and a close female companion. A bunch of us attended the funeral at Temple Sinai on Sunday. Rabbi Gibson's funeral service was adequate. The service that you gave my Mother, however, was outstanding-your singing better than the "cantorial soloist" on Sunday, your eulogy and its delivery full of warmth and dignity( a diffiicult assignment superbly accomplished!) Thank you, again.
Cecily
