About Me
Born at Kempsey Hospital. Raised on a farm at Belmore River (approximately 40 minutes from Kempsey). Formal education at Upper Belmore River Public School (until the government closed it down : 5 students were left : 3 from my family), Crescent Head Public School (it was there on a black and white TV that I saw Neil Armstrong take that "one giant leap for mankind"), Kempsey High School. After leaving school worked for the Commercial Bank of Australia (later to be taken over by the Wales Bank to form Westpac) for 8 1/2 years. Got tired of that and left. I have been employed as the 'Door Steward' (late afternoon / evening / weekend overglorified Receptionist!) at Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club since 1st September 1983. Met my wife Karen at the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club (she was a member). We were married in 1986. No children (by choice). I am a mad motorsport fan with a particular interest in Speedway. I have also been heavily involved in the Australian HO Slot Car Racing scene since 1993.
