About Me
Colin Carrington was born and raised at Coonabarabran NSW where the Castlereagh River begins in the rugged nearby Warrumbungle Range. The Castlereagh was made famous by A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson with his lines: "The roving breezes come and go, the reed beds sweep and sway, It's the land of lots of time along the Castlereagh." Colin is devoted to promoting bush poetry. He is a recognised stand alone performer of poetry, yarn spinning and bush comedy. Featuring regularly at events such as the the Maldon Folk Festival and Man from Snowy River Festival at Corryong. Colin has competed at both State and Australian Bush Poetry Championships since 2002. At Perth WA in 2004, Colin won the Novice Championship for the best performed Original Poem. He has won the Johnny Johanson Yarn Spinning Award at the prestigious Kyabram Bush Verse Group's 'Around the Camp Fire Night' in both 2006 and 2007. Performing under the stagge name 'Mulga Bill - Aussie Entertainer', Colin has also produced a quality 14 track CD, with a great mix of traditional and modern poetry, bush yarns and a truly humorous phantom race call 'The Matrimonial Stakes'. Humour, variety, quality and entertainment at affordable prices are his trademark. For Australian entertainment - thoroughbred racing industry especially catered for - contact Colin aka 'Mulga Bill' on 03 5433 2427 or email col@mulgabill.net.au

G'day, I'm a fair dinkum Aussie bloke who ain't impressed how Australia became 'Americanised' through television and fast food. Nor how Australians have darn near became strangers in their own country, as Federal governments of both flavours, aided by those holding the balance of power in the Senate have pandered to majority groups and kow towed to political correctness and multicultarism. I want to put the 'Aussie' back into 'Australia' . Strewth cobbers - it's a darn hard struggle. Can yer lend a hand. Let's get some bush poetry back into schools, so kids can enjoy learning in a fun way about our once great country's proud history, heritage and culture. Not forgetting our indigenous traditional land owners. Before we overly promote the 'Johnny come latelies'. I've got to admit though that many of our immigrants show us to in regards as to how effectively they promote their culture and heritage. So COO-EE!! How about lending a hand Cobber. Visit www.cgbp.info and see what a small group of Aussies are doing. Give bush poetry and associated entertainment a go.The bush 'fraternity' are a great bunch of dinkum aussies.
