"We can do better" (Kennedy)
Richest fluency
"This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul; and your very flesh shall be a great poem, and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body." Walt Whitman
'Coalition MP De-Anne Kelly says Australia must increase coal exports as part of the solution to global climate change. The Federal Member for Dawson, whose electorate includes the massive Bowen Basin coal fields west of Mackay in Queensland, says it is possible to increase Australia's coal exports and reduce global warming. She says the Coalition is looking at innovative ways to provide the industry with a win-win situation in the fight against climate change. "We are proposing to increase our coal exports and at the same time export innovative clean coal technologies," she said. "If we don't export coal, other countries will." The MP says export coal should be excluded from any future Howard Government emissions trading scheme. "It could, for instance, exclude all of our coking coal in central Queensland, which is used for metallurgical purposes and exported," she said. Mrs Kelly says Australia has plenty of time to develop clean energy technology to fix the problem of climate change.' ABC 13 Feb 2007. What can I say except 'I love De-Anne'. Just when you think that the National Party has reached the bottom in the stupidity stakes she lowers the bar yet again. And the public will take note and realise that she is much more typical of the conservative side of politics than that nice Barnaby, and vote for people who actually do understand what is going on in the real world.

I think Labor should target her in the next election. Some of her attempts to push things along have been quite bizarre.
After shooting herself in the foot many times they had to try and hide her from the Press. What worries me is that she can hold a Senate seat for the Nats. Surely they can find a woman who can contribute rather than this token effort.
