I should be getting my letter from nae soon, hopefully Monday or the latest Tuesday.......... i'm so excited, i can't wait to hear from her again.

She's coming up to visit for her birthday, but that's not until November, so i have ages to wait.

I suppose i could go and visit her again, since she left in January, she's been back for a day on my 18th, i went down for 8 days around April, she came up here again at the start of June, so it's my turn i suppose, it's just the problem of being able to afford it. I've got rego coming up and i gotta get my car looked at, it's running bad, and everytime i get a little extra money, i need to pay for something or other. That's kool though, i can be content with my letters for now, as long as i hear from her, it's all good!!!

My best friend lives in Brisbane and i live in Central Queensland, and i miss her something shockin, when she was living here we were still in school so i saw her almost everyday. She left just after we graduated, so going from seeing each other everyday to not seeing each other at all is really hard. We write each other letters, yeah, that's right actual letters, sent through post, and i think i know why letter writing has died out so much. We write each other a letter at least once a week and seeing as we have so much to tell one another it always turns out to be 8-10 pages long. That might seem a bit steep for once a week but there's always goss we gotta catch up on and i have to admit sometimes we go on with a lot of waffle, for the nicer word. Anyway back on track, the point, why letter writing is nearly extinct, we figured out is that it is so damn expensive, you might not think so, but let me explain it to you.

10 pages of paper a week (and of course it has to be pretty paper with borders, or coloured paper)

Pages of stickers ( To make the letter look good, duh)

Gel pens ( which run out frequently because of how much we write, i mean blue and black pens are so yesterday, lol)

Postage, which gets up to $2-$3 each post beacuse we always make little extras, like laminated poems and things we buy each other and at the  moment we are doing a stuff book, where we just put stuff in it and that is getting pretty thick ( so it has to go in a post pack and it gets heavy)

Even though it might seem easier to send an email or txt, which we do occasionally if it's something that can't wait til the letter gets to us, a letter is so much more personal, and the excitement you get from waiting, and waiting all week til you get the letter, and then when it gets here it is the absolute best feeling in the world that someone actually put time and effort to making it look good and writing stuff, instead of just getting on the computer typing something up and sending it. It may be a bit of a pain sometimes but i'd never go back. I'm not against emails, i mean, i still use them, but i never thought letter writing would be such a buzz.
