• Friday 22 December 2006 - So what are mates for?
Hey strangers,
Long time no see. I've been meaning to say hi to all and sundry for a while, but... well basically, things have been sucking pretty big time lately and I haven't really been in the mood for good conversation. Four months, lots of stress, disapointment and disillusion later... there's still no house on the scene. It's heart-breaking... but hey, it's christmas. That time of the year when we have to think about the good things in life, and appreciate them. Like all of the wonderful people in my life... and I'm not just talking about my beloved family here, either. Well, some of them are family and some of them aren't... technically... but I guess what it comes down to in the end is that I regard all of the people I love as family. Some are family because they were born to me and some are family because it was my choice to make them so. Some are the ones that I wish really were in my family's gene pool, and then there are family members who I would still dearly hold as close friends even if they didn't share my blood. There are the ones that have shown us so much unwavering support that I don't think I'll ever be able to repay them. And there are many that I'd never even recognise if I saw them anonymously in the street who have been of infinate strength, simply through the power of the written word. To all of you... and you all know who you are... I wish the very merriest of christmases. Those close by will all receive huge hugs and kisses some time before the big day... but I know I won't have the pleasure of doing the same for all of those I hold dear. So even though e-hugs are nothing like the real thing... a ginormous one is coming to each you guys from me... oh, and the following forward that I received might go a small way to conveying just how much I love you all. It came to me from someone pretty special and made me feel all warm and fuzzy. It speaks of true friendship and unwavering love. I thought the sentiments contained within were so beautiful that I just had to pass them on.
So guys... I love you all. (((((xxHUGGSxx)))))
Merry Christmas to all, and to alla Good Night!
"True" Friendship
None of that Sissy Crap!
Are you tired of those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?
Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.
You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.
1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry b*****d who made you sad.
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile -- I will know you finally got laid.
4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
9. This is my oath..... I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend".
Send this to 10 of your closest friends, then get depressed because you can only think of 4.
(Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.)
...it has to be a better year for all!! (Not just wishful thinking there...)
((((huggs)))) Tina, we miss you terriblyn and Gryphh.
Wishing you guys all the very best of everything for Christmas - you so deserve happiness.
Take care...(((huggs)))
