We saw this little fella on the side of a dirt road near the Yeppoon/Emu Park beaches. Well, he/she wasn't really all that little... around 8 feet long, at a guess. That's not really all that big for a carpet snake, either. He was sitting with his head up, soaking in the sun when we drove past. A quick u-turn, whip out the cameras... and presto.
He let us get pretty close...
But then he became a little too nervous and took off into the grass.
