Ok, time for a quick hello.
The lounge room is done. Only the tv (desk, etc) and a couple of mattresses in there to move. There's several full boxes along the wall ready to go into storage tonight, and a couple that are accumulating contents slowly. Wow, the room looks empty.
The kids' rooms are done. All clothes and toys (apart from one plastic storage box each) have been packed and stored already. Again, there are a few mattresses in the bedrooms, but they'll be going in tonight. Tonight we'll have a relatively uncomfortable night on the thin little mattresses that go with the swag and camping beds.
Our room is almost done. I culled down my clothes to one relatively large box. There was another box of personal stuff... handbags, jewellery, paperwork, old birthday cards, craft stuff, etc... and that's been packed too. G has to go through his clothes when he gets home from work. I don't want to do his clothes... I'd be afraid of chucking something that he really wants to keep. Besides, it was hard enough to throw away the ones I don't need any more.
The bathroom/linen cupboards have been 90% done. There's a couple of things left in there that G needs to check through... personal stuff. The laundry hasn't been touched yet, apart from frantically trying to get the pile of washing down. Not that there's much in there to pack... some irons, ironing board, etc. That won't take long at all.
The kitchen has been picked through. I packed up some stuff a couple of days ago that will go into the garage sale. I'll need to go through it again tonight. We have three or four sets of crockery, and a couple of spare drawers full of cutlery, knives, and other kitchen knick-knacks. I will cull them down to a large crockery set and one draw full of the cutlery, etc. And because we both had our own stuff when we moved in together, we also have a number of multiple items... blenders, coffee makers, toasters, etc. These will all have to be culled down too. More fodder for the garage sale.
Outside... the blokey area has been sorted through and divided into 'keepers', 'garage saleables' and 'toss-aways'. It's all been either thrown away or taken into town to be put into storage. There's a heap of potted plants still out there, but they should be pretty easy to manage. Then there's only the matter of mowing the lawns. We've decided that we're going to clean up and mow, even though the landlord didn't bother to give us that courtesy. We don't want to give him anything else to whinge about. It'll all work in our favour in the court case, anyway.
Tonight... another load will have to go into town. The last of the big stuff, at least, and all of the smaller stuff that we can. We have our angel helper, Mick coming over again tonight with his ute and his trailer. G couldn't get the van again tonight... one of the vans is off the road, as well as one of the trucks... so they can't spare us a vehicle. That's ok though, we should manage. Mick will also be here tomorrow to transport the cupboards that are locked in the shed. By 3 pm we should be out of here.
Oh, I'm looking forward to being done... not that it'll last for long. Friday and Saturday have been booked in already. We'll need to go through everything again to find all of the stuff that has been designated for the garage sale, and get it all set up ready to go. Sunday will be busy too, hopefully... the day of the garage sale. Aaarrggh! We'll need a holiday after this.
