The other day at the gardens we saw some really cool birds. I just thought some of you might like to see some. This first is one of the cheeky ibis' and a crow that hang out near the BBQ area and playground.





The ibis is a pretty funny looking bird. I was fascinated by the red spots on the back of his head.





This kookaburra had just dived down at something under the leaves. I got this shot as he was looking up to see where he was going next.





Unlucky...





There were two cockatoos in this tree. As we walked past we heard a 'chunk' sound and looked around to see a number of seed pods on the ground. The cockatoos were chewing the seed pods off and dropping them down onto the ground. One of them stuck into the ground, sticking up vertically. The kids were warning all of the passer-by's that they were in danger.
"Killer cockatoos. Be careful, there's killer cockatoos up there."





These Rainbow Lorikeets were hassling a few tourists at the cafeteria. They decided that they wanted the strawberry jam in the container, so the tourists had no choice but to hand it over.
