Ok, this section is about things that are from the sky.
The first is a photo of a bee. I'm planning on an insect and arachnid entry too (arachnaphobes beware), but I've got some other bee pics. Besides, I had to add this one in here. After all, bees fly.

I was going to call this one 'Squadron'. These cranes were really high and I had to zoom in a long way to get them. The way the sun is shining behind their wings almost make them look like cartoons or caracatures. They all look remarkably similar too.

A lonely pelican just couldn't quite get with the groove. Don't you just hate being the odd one out?

This peacock was perched in the huge Morton Bay Fig tree at the kiosk area. He's a magnificent specimin of male peacock-ness. His tail hung about three feet below the branch.

This one was further down, in the kangaroo enclosure at the zoo.

This gave me a chuckle. The Fake Termite Mound is mounted on the bars of the chimpanzee enclosure. It helps to keep the chimps occupied as they don't mind having a munch on the termites, but they're not the only ones.

The ducks and turtles live in complete harmony down at the lagoon. This duck is coming in for a landing as the others gather around a young girl who was offering bread as a treat. The turtles are also used to being fed, and will come very close... close enough to pat.

As the ducks come into land, they start to run on air. Then they walk on water for a split second before landing and leaving a long bow wave. You can see the splash that this guy left as his foot hit the water.

On the way home, we saw the atmospheric equivalent of our friend the peackock in the sky. In other words, there's a peacock in the clouds.
