Yep, a bit of while since our last entry - been too busy with family life! Just a quick one now to update you on two major changes to our family:
We're moving in a little under two weeks back to Wellington Point! This move is related to the second piece of news, our third baby 'Astro', is due in March 2009!
The imminent arrival of 'Astro' means, of course, that we have needed to upgrade the size of our home and some time in the future will need to do the same to our family vehicle.
Matthew and Denna are now 3 (almost - one month to go) and 15.5 months old. Very happy, self-amusing children - we feel so blessed to be their parents!
Here's a recent pic of us at Dorrigo National Park on our holiday in July.
We will put another posting up here, probably when 'Astro' makes his/her entry into this world in mid-March.

This is Matthew - turning two in a couple of weeks!

This is Denna at about two months old - lifting her head up off the couch. The smile is pretty much permanent, she's a very happy little girl.
Two weeks down, two to go in Longreach

Hi all!
Well, we've reached the half-way point of our time here at Longreach, and it's going really well. Beaut warm weather, awesome scenery, nice people and just a really relaxed lifestyle that sees Ben home for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day! Julie, Matthew and Denna are also enjoying a big fenced yard, lots of parks and having Dad home a lot!

The Lawsons in Longreach

We're now in sunny Longreach! It took us two days (16 hrs) to get up here, stopping at Mitchell overnight. The children travelled very well, Matthew only getting a little tired of sitting in his car seat during the last couple of hours. He was very good and entertained himself.
Our home here is a nice three bedroom brick house that overlooks the airport. We can see the Qantas museum from our backyard. The weather is really nice - getting up to just under 30 degrees during the day and not too cool during the evening. So much for the winter woollies we packed!
Ben is enjoying the different work here and despite the lack of shopping trolleys with toddler seats, Julie, Matthew and Denna are enjoying themselves, too.

Denna was christened on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at St George's Anglican Church, Birkdale.

We discovered the other day that the midwife who weighed Denna at birth actually got it wrong - well, the pounds and ounces bit, anyway. 3.53kg is actually 7lb 12oz, not 7lb 1oz. Sheesh!
We'll put another photo up of Denna soon. All is well at home, we're all settling back at home nicely.

This is the latest craze in the Lawson family: kayak washing! After Ben takes the kayak around the bay or up the creek, Matthew is very keen to help wash the kayak off(and Ben, too!).

Welcome to the Lawson's Blog

Hi there!
Due to the impending arrival of our second child, 'Dot', we thought we'd start a blog (we haven't had time to do up our own website!).
This is the place to find photos of the new arrival when he/she makes his/her entry into the world, hopefully not too long after or before May 24. There'll also be photos of our first child, Matthew, on here as well.
We may add some photos or entries before then to let you know how we're going, but would like to keep in personal contact with you, so please drop us an email occasionally.
OK, so for a start, 'Dot' has been growing and developing in utero for the past 27 weeks today. 13 more weeks until the due date. 'Dot' is incredibly active, more so than big brother Matthew was, and wiggles, stretches, punches and kicks to the point of making Mum uncomfortable sometimes. At this point, Mum's tummy appears smaller than it was with Matthew.
And.......most people are in the 'girl camp' (ie. think that 'Dot' is a girl). Mum, Dad and Matthew are firmly in the 'healthy baby' camp and would love having either two little boys or one of each flavour.
That's all our news for now - check this blog out in late May/early June for photos of our new family member.
