How long you should spend on your garden every week

A lot of people agree that gardening is one of the most beneficial hobbies that we can engage in today. There are numerous benefits to doing it that it really is a mystery as to why there are not more people who are into it now. Here are some of the benefits that you can get from gardening:

  • You can directly get fruits, vegetables and herbs that you can use as food and for other purposes. You could even sell them.
  • Those who practice gardening would say that it is the most relaxing and stress relieving activity that they have ever tried. Chances are, you would feel the same way about it once you have tried gardening too.
  • It can make the post that you have chosen for the garden to look a lot better.
  • A garden can be a place of solitude and refuge.

As you have seen there are many benefits that you can get out of having a garden in your place. If you want to get all of those benefits then you would have to maintain your garden as well as you can. It should be tidy and free from debris. It should be cleared of weeds regularly.

Now, the question is how much time should you be spending in your garden? This is totally up to you. If you feel refreshed and relaxed each time that you work on your garden, then you can go ahead and work on your garden as much as you want. There is no such thing as over gardening. In fact, that would be beneficial for you since that would give you much needed exercise and work out. You can also be exposed to the outdoors.

The problem is that as much as we want, we don’t really have a lot of spare time that we can spend in gardening. So what is it that we can do then? Neglect the garden long enough and it would look unkempt and untidy.

You should spend a few minutes each day cleaning it up. You should pull weeds and take out the leaves and other debris that fall on the plot. You can cut dead branches there and move the plants if you want to. For heavier work such as making raised beds or for planting trees, you would have to spend a longer time working and you would have to do that on the weekends and other free time.
