Sundays 21st & 28th September & 5th October 2008


Hartley Hill Homestead has 1.5 hectares of native gardens surrounded by natural bushland. It is  positioned within the Newcastle urban zone and is an important wildlife refuge. This garden was visited during the 2007 National Conference - now visitors can take their time to see even more.
 

Entry is $5 per person. Devonshire teas will be available. All money collected is given to the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

While on the subject of Open Gardens, the Open Garden Scheme (AOGS) Guide for 2008/09 was released in August 2008.  The Guide is available from newsagents, ABC shops and book shops and is priced under $20.

The guide includes details of 'all native' or 'predominately native' gardens  around Australia.
