21 August 2008 8:24 AM Botanical Illustrators produce scientific illustrations of plants in pen and ink to accompany botanical papers which are published in science journals. If you've ever wondered what is involved in producing these illustrations, this short film is worth watching (actually, it's definitely worth watching even if you've never wondered about it).Catherine Wardrop is a botanical illustrator at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and this film is one of a series of clips prepared by the ABC Science Unit to help inspire young kids at school to find their dream careers. Thanks to Peter Wilson from the RBG for sending this link. (Note: if the "Watch the Video" link on that page doesn't work, try the "Watch Catherine Wardrop talk about being a Botanical illustrator" link at the bottom of the page where you can choose either Real Player or Windows Media Player). { Add Comment }
