Sunshine Coast Spring Wildflower Festival

10 August 2008 3:22 PM

The annual Sunshine Coast Spring Wildflower Festival commences on Friday 15 August and runs until Sunday 31 August.  The Festival will give residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a range free guided walks, talks, exhibitions and workshops over a two week period across a range of venues.

The Sunshine Coast is home to a number of ecologically significant natural conservation areas that include a rich diversity of native species. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the local area and celebrate the Coast's natural beauty.

Highlights of the Festival program, which extends from Bribie Island to Noosa, include tours of the local National Parks, wallum wildflower areas and botanical reserves, plus special sessions relating to local wildlife, eco friendly gardening and some of the great work being done by local community groups and schools.

The full program of activities can be downloaded from the website of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council (pdf file).
