National Tree Day - Sunday 29 July

2 July 2007 5:18 PM

Here's a recent press release from Planet Ark:

Take positive action with Planet Ark on National Tree Day 2007!

It¹s time again to take real and positive action to help combat climate change and protect our wildlife by planting native trees and shrubs on Planet Ark¹s National Tree Day 2007. The simple act of planting a tree can help.

Corymbia maculata
Spotted Gum
Valuable contributions to National Tree Day in the past by organisations such as yours has resulted in over 300,000 volunteers planting 1.6 million native trees and shrubs at 3,600 sites around the country last year.  The understanding that we need to act now to reduce our impact on the environment has never been greater, and more people than ever are looking for ways to help, so we¹re expecting more people will want to volunteer at planting sites.   We know National Tree Day will be bigger than ever.

This year, National Tree Day falls on Sunday 29 July, with Schools Tree Day taking place on Friday 27 July. Please call our Hotline on 1300 88 5000 or visit:

http://www.planetark.com/treeday

for more information on how to get involved, the alternate insured dates, the competitions we¹ll be running for 2007, or just to talk trees!

We look forward to your assistance for 2007.

Warm regards,

Rosa
