25 June 2007 8:53 PM Thanks to Isobel Hoegh-Guldberg of Oberon, NSW for this contribution to 'Favourites'."All correas are good garden plants but Correa 'Mannii' is the winter light of our garden. Correa 'Mannii' is said to be a hybrid of Correa reflexa and Correa pulchella. Its profusion of scarlet bells and its glossy dark green foliage shine up against the grey and at times snow white of a high country garden. Correa 'Mannii' is a small to medium shrub, very hardy and frost resistant. It tends to have an open habit with long arching branches but takes kindly to pruning after flowering or little and often. The off cuts make readily strikable cuttings. It is our joy and the birds joy in winter." Thanks, Isobel. Yes, this is one of my favourite correas as well. Remember, if you have a plant that you particularly like and that might be of interest to others through 'Gumnuts', write a paragraph or two about it and drop me an email.
