Some website owners advertise for guest bloggers. It's a way of adding content to their website for free. Find blogs that blog on topics that you know a bit about or are particularly interested in. That way, you'll enjoy writing the posts and that will be reflected in your writing. While you won't be paid for the posts, most sites that accept guest blog posts offer a link back to your site in the post - which can bring additional traffic and potential clients to your site.
If you can't find any requests for guest bloggers on topics you feel comfortable with, just find the blogs and email the blog owners. You can always ask.
There are three main advantages to guest blogging. There are the "link backs" to your own website which can assist your SEO (search engine optimization) efforts. You'll have samples of your work on display on other websites - so you get to take advantage of their traffic. And last but not least, it gives you an opportunity to build up relationships with other website owners - who may need paid content at some time.
