Reality...20/4/2007

What is Reality? Is something we always ask ourselves on an everyday basis? What is real? Maybe we just think things are real, when in fact their not. We see earth as real, human beings as real.. but could it be possible that we are just apart of a smaller picture. Is it possible that humans are not the dominant species on earth? How do I even know what I'm typing is real? How do you know that this your reading, is real? Or the person who wrote it is? Maybe this is all just a figment of imagination, or in correspondence with some philosophers there could be a demon conditioning your appearance of reality. Maybe everything in life refers back to the 'a priori' theory; meaning that everything that we see is conditioned. It could mean that everything we see, feel or hear could be a lie.

For me reality is right here and right now? Although I can't prove that this right now is real, I can always believe that it is real. Although sometimes in life you wish some things that you go through aren't real, but that’s just it we don't choose how our life is going to be.. all we can do is make alterations to modify or to change a small part of it. If life wasn't real, shouldn't we be able to make it how we wish to live it. If this was all apart of our imaginations, couldn't we base our imaginations on our hopes, dreams, wishes and desires.

Maybe in a perfect world.

Time. Time. Time. Time. Tiimmee....18/2/2007
Time, something we all dread when we first wake up. Something we all fear will go to long with a particular event such as school, a job interview or transportation to a certain venue. But something that has not yet been clarrified is, what is time? And how do we measure it? Sure some might easily say we measure time by years, months, weeks, hours, minutes, seconds and so on. But do we really? And if we do, how do we relate those measurements into our everyday lives. When recalling a story we dont state that at this particular hour, minute and second of the day this occurance happened.

To some people, time itself may seem re-occuring. Like sometimes we may feel like we are re-living a past experience, but are we really? Or is it all just a perception of our minds. The weird thing about time, is here I am scrutinising the fact that no one really knows that time is, but at the same point everyone in the world uses time as their center point. We use time to live our lives. How can you live a full life using a certain concept in order to run your life, but at the same time you don't really understand the concept itself? There I go again, time.

Is time really as important as we make it out to be, wouldn't our lives be a little more stress free if we took and lived life on our own terms, if we weren't expected to be at certain places to see certain people at a certain TIME. Maybe that's just it time is full of expectations. Expectations that we are faced to live with regardless of what we want as human beings. Has time taken over our free will?

Time is, waiting.
Just like we are waiting to find out what time truly is.

is there one kind of person better then another?14/2/2007
Is there one kind of person better then another?

A question many go on about, being better. When we talk about better do we mean wether it maybe being better in playing fotball, driving a car, or being better at cooking then someone else. Or does the concept go beyond that? Do we mean better as in that person is better looking then the person next to them, or that person has a better attitude towards life then that girl next to him? What do we mean by better, there surely can't be only one meaning; or can there?

Being better is something any individual or organisation strives to do well in. Everyone wants to be better, but better in comparison to what? When we supposingly label oursleves as better, do we mean we are better then the person next to us? Do we mean that were better then the people around us? Being better then who or what is an issue itself regardless of what sense we are better in.

Another term I struggle to come to terms with is, if better is a man - made concept, then why is it that we are born with inate knowledge of better. Rather then better being a concept we adapt to in life, could it be a behaviour we are born with? And if that is the case, which I believe it is; it explains why us as human beings are always in competitve modes with one another.

People may be better then one another, surely that is how the world works. However I believe there is not one person in the world that is ultimatley better then the other 7 billion people on planet earth. People maybe better in different attributes. For example, Simon might be easier to talk, but Samantha might be easier to listen to. People should be better for themselves, rather then being better to someone they know, they should measure it in comparison with their own character and attitude.

Ultimatley people make choices, choices who define who they are, not how better they are.
