EARTH SPIRIT Australian Paintings EUROPEAN TOURING EXHIBITION
Eddie Ryan Bangadi & Gerry Joe Weise 2001 GROUP EXHIBITIONS 11 aboriginal artists from the Northern Territory, Australia. England Banggala, Peter Nabarlambarl, Thompson Yulidjirri, Bob Namundja, Bill Namundja, Sonda Turner Nampijmpa, Mary Mullins Jujabilla, Eddie Ryan Bangadi, Maurice Fejo Minnadook, Jocelyn Garrwurra, Celleste Robertson Nangala. DUO EXHIBITIONS Indigenous artist Eddie Ryan Bangadi from the Central Arnhem Land region and contemporary artist Gerry Joe Weise, have gotten together to paint 5 joint/collaboration paintings in March/April 2000 in Darwin N.T., in a mixture of Lowbrow and aboriginal tribal art.
Culture Centre, Les Salvages 2002 SOLO EXHIBITIONS Gerry Joe Weise has stayed on two aboriginal communities, Manmoyi and Gunbalanya. He has worked with indigenous Kunwinjku band Nabarlek, artist Ash Dargan, frequented the Injalak Arts Council, and he has worked in different aboriginal art galleries in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney. His reflections on Australian Indigenous Art are presented by a limited amount of works set aside for the "Earth Spirit" exhibitions; especially his colored pigments on a circle of earth, approxiamately 5 metres in diameter, set out on the floor at the exhibition space.
