A crochet/ craft only blog for those who do not wish to delve in to my 'life' on the main blog. Note - all crochet terminology used is in US form. Email address, eyriecrochet-spam@gmail.com "...I make things because I love knowing that I can. I love knowing that I put all my love and creativity into it. And I love knowing that in this hectic world, I can sit down and make something useful and beautiful. Often, other people wonder why I would do this when I could buy a rug at Walmart for ten dollars. I think that the point is slowing down and enjoying the journey, even if it is taking much longer than I originally thought that it would...."

fabric strip links10 October 2008
Personally, I just tie knots. I like the bumps ...er in crocheted rugs. For braided rugs I use the slit and draw through method.

But here are other methods - loop type join (t-shirts)
single strip (t-shirts) - ok this lady knitted hers, but the fabric-to-strips is multicrafty.

no-join method (doona covers, pillow slips etc)

A few other methods from RugMakers Homestead.

back and forth cutting method. Also by a knitter.

another link. Knitter using torn strips.

Aussie linkee,  for joining sheets.

Heaps of ways. Have fun!
