I will introduce about one of festival in Korea. The name is the 15th of the first month according to the lunar calendar. Most of Korean regard as important as the new year's day because we have been using the lunar calendar. This day, we used to crack a nut using one's mouth for long life and most of children play the fireworks in the farm, actually this day is in winter so the farmers were already engaged. The firework kills bad insects which are in the ground that is for farming of this year. The major of activities is "Ganggang Suwollae" which is a Korean circle dance. Most of women usually play by under the bright full moon and the song that goes with the dance. But, nowadays Korean people do not care about this day so it is forgotten by modernization.

In Chinese New Year, the children get a lot of red pocket money, new clothes and I can see all family members in this holiady. I think that all things have a start and forget all unhappy things. Some old people don't celebrate their birthdays much as young people in Korea but usually they just make seaweed soup and eat that because seaweed means 'long life' in Korea. Anyways.. in Korea every birthdays , most people give presents and celebrate each other and the birhtday person buy food or pay for something to play like Karaoke etc... and the most important part of 'birthday celebration' is singing the birthday song ... I think the birthday celebration in Korea is almost same as other country .. Thank you ~ by. Jennifer
