God and I was struggling with 2. But, in my own defence, I must say that they were little when my arthritis was in a very bad flare-up stage that lasted for years. I couldn't walk most of the time, couldn't do housework, could barely drive and certainly couldn't lift them. No wonder I found it hard, especially as there was only 16 months between them.

Oh my goodness..that would have been so so hard.....I don't know how I would manage if I didn't have the physical strength to cope.
And 16 months apart? Would have made it super hard - both my "p[airs" are 18 months but that extra couple of months does make a difference with a toddler's independance

The wine isn't bad....
it's a Russet Ridge (Coonawarra) Cabernet SHiraz Merlot...2002....drinkable.
One I have had a few times before....is nice...and no nasty after effects in morning.

I love red wine but these days it doesn't love me. I get a wicked headache from it.
Mostly, I drink champagne these days (well, sparkling wine anyway). I have a solid drinking history of that from my Russian tour days and it never gives me a headche or gets me anything more than amiably drunk.

Don't mind a drop of champagne myself - having lunch with a girlfriend tomorrow - she often just opens a bottle when she has lunches at her place....funnily enough, it was with her and mutual friends that I used to consume the vast quantities of red....bit of a trend..maybe age does tend to steer you towards something lighter....

Strangely enough I like liquorice to eat...but I can't drink it....don't know why....
but then spirits I rarely have mixed with anything....so they have to appeal straight away - smell as well as taste..and pernod just doesn't do it for me.

I sometimes think I'm too easily wooed.
A bit of attention, somebody being nice to me, a debauched evening and a bit of booze. It doesn't take much to win me back.
Still, I always think that marriage is a work in progress, even if I have to do most of the progressing. I'll grit my teeth and hang on because I will not be the one to make it easy to end this.
Having said that, I'm going to do some bonding in the spa. I heartily recommend it as a marriage counselling tool. it's difficult to get really aggressive and confrontational whilst sitting in warm water and scented oils, sipping Black Velvet!
