Dave McFarlane, born, bred in the Dandenong Ranges, is a Melbourne based folk Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He released his first solo acoustic album "Strange Kind Of Dream" in 1997 with a no-frills type of honesty, reminiscent of early Blues records. It featured "Travelling Man" which won the 1997 Lawson Patterson Songwriting Award at the Port Fairy Folk Festival. The Dave McFarlane sound has been described as: unplugged folk energies into dynamic acoustic blues rock, trademark roots instrumentals, with infectious rhythm and soaring harmonies.
