Hyundai Sonata Limited
When the current-generation Hyundai Sonata debuted in 2006, we were duly impressed with its attractive exterior styling, exceptional build quality and roomy cabin. In the time since, the Sonata has undergone a series of updates and upgrades to bring it closer to challenging its well-established competitors from Japan. All the while, accolades for its dependability and quality have been rolling in, further bolstering the Sonata's reputation as a quality sedan.(Magazine Ryan Binkley)

Audi A4 3.2 Quattro Performance

Although our 2009 Audi A4 was powered by a direct-injection, 3.2-liter V6 engine that makes 265 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, the car's speed and handling didn't quite live up to our expectations. We laid down a 0-60-mph time of 6.9 seconds from a standing start — 0.3 second slower than the time listed on the A4's spec sheet, and a full 1.3 seconds slower than BMW's estimated 0-60-mph time for the 335i sedan with automatic transmission. But what the A4 lacked in the way of time during testing, it made up for in smoothness, thanks in part to the six-speed Tiptronic transmission, which made gearchanges almost seamlessly.

Dodge Challenger SRT8

The modern Challenger turns willingly, stops quickly and provides ride comfort and isolation approaching that of a Chrysler 300 luxury sedan. The latter's not too surprising, considering the two cars (along with the Dodge Charger) are platform mates. But this means the Challenger is more of a high-performance luxury coupe at heart than a raw-edged tire roaster, though it'll certainly light 'em up whenever the mood strikes.

Ryan Binkley Texas : Audi TT Coupe 3.2 Quattro

With that, the 2008 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 Quattro has been transformed from a mild-mannered cute coupe into an honest-to-Gott German sports car. Heading into the first corner, the typically light Audi steering transmits the contours of the aged mountain-road pavement into the driver's hands. Through the corner, the TT stays well planted, with body roll kept at nil. The difference between the surprisingly adept regular suspension tuning and the firmer magnetic setting isn't readily apparent until you realize the latter is allowing the TT to cut through such roads much faster. As the corner disappears into the auto-dimming mirror, another click brings up 4th gear with lightning speed as the sensuous sound of the 250-horsepower V6 builds into a smile-forming crescendo.

Chevrolet Cobalt XFE
Function

Because the XFE is offered in only the most basic of Cobalt trim levels, expectations should be kept in check. Hand-cranked windows, manually adjustable mirrors, no keyless entry (in fact, no power locks at all) and no cruise control all contribute to this Cobalt's bargain basement rental car feel. On the bright side, the manual shifter was particularly pleasing, with gates easily found and a positive feel. The clutch was similarly satisfying as well, with a light touch and intuitive engagement.
