THE NOW WAS THEN…

When the now was then, I remember once again,

I ponder on them learning times gone by…

And I think about the good times, but that was yesteryear,

The moments fly, like clouds high in the sky…

I shed a tear for love, for love I shed a tear,

Though sometimes sadness comes, a knocking at my door..

These days I take it easy, at the office, nice and breezy,

Where waves roll in and wash the sandy shore…

And now there’s master Jettman, and little baby Belle,

As beautiful and charming, as anything could be…

While Bard is there in Dublin, and Asha’s on the hill,

The memory of the moment, is the only time I see…

How are you Dave,

I might have the wrong man but if not its good to join the family dots. I believe that you are the cousin of John Ovenden (my dad) and nephew of Jack Ovenden (my pop) who live in Kiama. I got a random phone call from Neil Tooze from the 60's band the fiesta men the other night who was trying to get in contact with you after 40 years. My dad has your number (i think) so i gave Neil dads number to get yours. Anyway, I havent met you before but dad has spoken a bit about you over the years. Im the middle of 3 kids (Dirk 33, Rhys 31, Naida 29) and we all live around kiama still. Dads well. Mum and dad retired 3 years ago from teaching and are just loving the travel and the 5 grandkids they have. Pop had his 90th last year and i got to meet Some of your other cousins Colin. Dianne and Alyn which was great. I hadnt met any other Ovenden's before.

Anyway, if you would like to get in contact with me my email address is rhys.ovenden@bluescopesteel.com. I would love to get to know some more of dads side of the family. I really dont know much about them at all.

Hope you well

Rhys Ovenden
