BILAMBIL CALLING. THE BLOKE DAVE OVENDEN OF BULLAMAKANKA AND PASPALUM

I got myself a coffee, then on the side walk found a seat.

Lots of ladies bottoms, swaying up and down the street.

The coffee’s very hot, far to hot to drink.

So I roll myself a smoke, and there I sit and think…

I hear the idle chatter of the people passing by.

While wispy clouds are streaking, across the windy sky.

I think I’ll take a photo, Jim Larkin, arms spread wide.

Then cross the street to snap, James Joyce on the other side.

The hustle and the bustle, stone buildings standing tall.

There’s lots of passing people, as I meander in the mall.

The summer sun shines brightly, when home I make my way.

To Rathgar on the top deck of that bus I sit and sway…
