Went on down at 4pm and sure enough it was on. Bob Dylan SongBook Band. The carpets were still wet but the big fans were on and Jaki arrived with incense and other sumptuous disguising smells and the crowd - must have been stir crazy after the weeks rain - it was indeed a crowd started arriving on time and stayed till dark when stars actually appeared in the sky. Band is getting sharp and tight now and beginning to win over the Bill who weren't at all tickled about 4 hours of Dylan. Ended up staying the whole time and could have gone on another hour or so. Phil and Susan were down from Hope island despite the threat of hail and thunderstorms and Corinne and Brad from Southport. Pretty much a CROWD. Bill reckons Bob would have liked the slightly seedy atmposphere and energetic music. Bob Dylan Song Book Band will be back first sunday arvo of February at 4pm. Digger Revell was up for a guest spot and a lad from Currumbin says he will bring the Queenslanders down next time. He loved it. Kenny had the sausages ready again. Congrats to the Sports Club Staff who cleaned her up and kept on going to provide one great afternoon.

CHEZ

BOB DYLAN SONG BOOK BAND - DECEMBER 2 2007

Perfect weather bringing in second day of summer and the BDSB Band. Billy was at Linden Gallery till 5pm NSW - curating - so didnt get down till a little later. Music was in full swing - or full whatever it is that Dylan does which is not likely to really SWING. But it was loud and it was good. TIGHT THIS TIME. The lads are still reading the words - due to the encyclopaedic nature of Bob's lyrics but soon will be eyeballing us at our tables and re-collecting each syllable without assistance. Impressive reading anyways. Billy trundled down the hill in the Charade with the broken tail light and was accosted toute suite to take fotos of the band. Did so - they wanted an innocuous background to let their true colours show but the Bill figured a good Bilambil Ovals backdrop was a better idea.
Will add some images as soon as the Big Air slow motion satellite internet allows him to do so. Can tell you now they look smart in their Bob D T shirts especially created in the Far North and sent to them express post. Courtesy Gina . Billy hasnt met Gina yet but the T shirts look schmick.
Digger Revel and mark Quin joined in for a few verses and the lads from the Club cooked up Kennys beer battered sausages.
Bilambil at its Best - the Sunday Arvo was. Horses from over the way - now free from the restrictions of the EI were head nodding and swaying along. They call it EI but Billy warned of this a year or more back when he first heard Paspalum play and read about the ergotism .
