BILLY'S PAGE OF BILAMBIL BLUES CLUB

Well Billy is home a little despondent. Blues is on tonight. He's been down with the Bass Player and it was looking good. The carpets have pretty much dried out and the smell is just about gone . Looking good says the Bill to himself.

New Chef in the kitchen. Now - Dont like whingeing but its been a stressful time and Billy is getting almighty sick of being starved as a vegetarian. The new menu looks real good. For the Meat eaters. The food smells good. so don't take offence or turn tail - this is the same sort of mixup in a good place as happened at Jamiesons a little while ago and Billy handles it pretty well as a general rule but he lost it tonight. Almost told the Club to get Stuffed as his dad the Colonel Sanders would have done. " Wouldn't P on you from a great height " The old Gent used to say when aroused.

Or starve to death. Apologies to the new Chef. As he says - the menu looks real good. Prices have stayed under $20. Looks Good . But when the Bill went up to order something for himself - and aware of the bass players need to eat later on in the night - ONE PLATE OF VEGIES - they say.
Two ? says the Bill. Nope - only ONE. the meat eaters have ordered the other ones.

So he's home missing the music but keeping out of trouble. Ate in Brisbane at the Work Xmas Party. A fancy do at THE BLUE FROG in TOOWONG. That one had vegies for $14. 3 vege and nought else. All desserts with grog in them. Took it in our mutual strides and kept smiling. Went out with The Bass Players brother. Same sort of deal in a pub in Spring Hill. A classy pub restaurant mind you. The good thing there was - the young women serving were delightful. And went to great lengths to get the bowl of vegies together. Plus the dessert was excellent. Not asking much. Billy don't think but there you are. Its been going on like this ALL summer. Not even a matter of money.

Anyways - Bill is calling it a day. Left the dinner - the plate of vegies and the garlic bread - for the Bass Player. Almost lost the plot and sounded off to Big Les and Co - good people all . So hopped into the Charade and tootled back up the hill and tucked in with a bagel and some water to wonder about things. Got the Hungry Blues. Bob Dylan Song Book Band is snags only. Last week was char grill and salad and tonight - well - ONE plate of vegies between two people. Thanks to Pete Livingston last week for the generosity re the salad and spuds and bread and congrats to Kenny who does a great job on the BBQ. Getting about the same at Jamiesons too. Been quiet BUT THE VEGIE choices are limited too. Used to be excellent.

And while I am at it - not eating meat and not taking alcohol seem pretty strange things to have to apologise for.
