Nothing is shocking in China at the moment. We are living in such a liberated society right now. We can do anything basically if we don't overturn the government.
Some time ago, Ren Da students (The People's University) showed their legs when photos were taken upon their graduation. Then netizens and online media said that they were "ungraceful" and "nasty", ruining their university's fame. Not to mention that Ren Da is not a very good university, what's wrong with their showing legs? They are girls in their twenties. They need attention and fun.
While people are enjoying the nasty photos of Furong Jiejie and Yaofei Niangniang, they scold these girls of being obscene just because they think Ren Da graduates shouldn't do it.
A similiar case happens at Bei Da (Peking University), China's best university. There is a gym underneath the Classroom Building of Science and Computer. One of the classes ouat the gym is belly dance. A lot of Bei Da girls rush there to learn it. My best uni classmate from Shenyang despises them a lot. She doesn't think that they have good looks or nice figures so they should not learn it. Actually, she doesn't have these two either. Anyway, again, what's wrong with their studying it? I would have studied it if the class had started when I was studying in Bei Da. I reckon it is good for our figures. Even though we didn't have nice figures, we could achieve it by practising belly dance. I see nothing bad with it as long as they don't use it to "seduce" people or copy Furong Jiejie.
It seems that we have lost our judgement ability, confronted with moral crises. We can't tell what's right and wrong and what's moral and immoral. This is a even worse moral or intellectual crisis than conducting the above actions. Can we stand still in front of the moral chaos developed by our country's fast-growing economic development?
