| Socrates was born and lived in Athens. He is most known from his student Plato who was also a philosopher but the first to leave writings of his own. He wrote many plays using Socrates as the main character in most of them. Socrates main area of philosophy was "truth". He did not question th nature of the world, but how human beings should live in this world. He quotes "God orders me to fulfill the philosopher's mission of searching into myself and other men". Socrates also states that he is wiser than others because he knows that he knows nothing. I question this and do not believe that it is possible to know nothing at all. All that is important to him is the search for the truth and what is the truth, looking for the truth rather than finding it, this is an action of a true philosopher. He believed that if you knew then you should do it. He believed that knowledge was connected with goodness and quotes "No one does wrong willingly". He debated the difference between certain knowledge (what we know is correct) and opinion ( what we think is correct). Socrates was condemed to death under the aligations of disblief in god and corrupting the young. | ||

| Time can be described to be the appearance of the continuous distance between the past and the present. Heraclitus once said "you cannot step into the same river twice". This theory leads us to believe that we can never in reality experience one moment in time at that exact same time ever again. Time is one thing that can never not be experienced. It is all around us and it always there. | ||

| It is hard to believe that there can't be such a thing as knowledge. Everybody knows something and everybody still has knowledge to learn, but there can't be a person in the world who has no knowledge at all. If it is as simple as knowing your name it still means that you have knowledge. Some people may not know the full knowledge of something but still may have some. Knowledge is how much of what we know. How much knowledge of one thing can someone know? To have knowledge of something makes you more aware of it, and makes you understand its purpose in life. We need knowledge to live. To know how to take care of yourself and if there was no such thing as knowledge how would we survive? Our whole lives are filled with knowledge that we have gathered and learnt over the years and everyday there is a chance for people to gain more of it, because you can never have enough knowledge. | ||

I
don't believe that a "better" person exists. If everyone was originally
created to be equal, why would there need to be a better person? Some
people who are more fortunate than others who may be treated with more
respect and have more power than others doesn't make them a
better person than the people who arn't as fortunate as them. I don't
believe that wealth creates a better person. People can not be judged
or compared to other people as a result of their actions of choices
that they make in life to make them better than somebody else.
Everybody was made to be different for a reason and nobody was made to
be "better" than somebody else. What makes someone better than somebody
else? Is it the way they talk, act, dress? If everyone was originally
created to be the same there wouldn't be the question of "is there a
better person" because people wouldn't be able to compare themselves to
find the better person. Sometimes i can find ways to make myself
believe that a better person does exist when you campare yourself to
some people in the world. For example i do believe that there are
better people in the world than murderers, rapists and crimianls. In
general though i don't believe that there is a certain type of better
person in the world. | ||
