Living for Jesus

Counting My Blessings

I never realised that every little thing I had was a blessing from the Lord. Everything I ate, everything that suddenly happened just at the right time, having wonderful Christian parents and basically a Christian family, marrying a wonderful man and having beautiful children, these are just some of the many blessings that I have. I have come to appreciate that I am so blessed, that I am ashamed of all those times that I have felt like I have nothing when really I have more than most other people. I thank the Lord for all His blessings and want to praise Him all the days of my life. I want to make up for all those years that I abandoned Him and ensure my eternity.

Time well spent?

What is the difference between being busy and being fruitful or productive? Most people think that by being busy they are also being productive, but that is not always the case. I have found that sometimes when I have been on my toes all day, at the end of the day I sit back and think of what I have done that has kept me so busy and realise that it hasn't been much at all. I guess it's better when we know that what we are doing will bring us some kind of satisfaction or fulfilment before we do it, we can be fruitful and still have time left over. Let's bear fruit for the Lord, let's be fishers of men.

What is my purpose?

Isn't it a wonder? I recently read an article about what our purpose is. Each and every one of us has a purpose, regardless of our colour, background, religion and all other boundaries set by man, we as individuals each have a unique purpose. I for one know what I want to do and have been thinking about it ever since I read this article in 'Enjoying Everday Life', a monthly magazine by the inspirational Joyce Meyers. I never really thought about what my purpose was. Being a housewife after more than 10 years of work was a major transition that I had to adjust to and I found that I had so much time in my hands I just didn't know what to do with it. I realise now that I have not been planning and using my time appropriately and that is what I have been trying to do now. Money is always going to play a major part in hindering our prospects, but it is NOT everything. I believe I have found my purpose and hope to fulfil it within the coming year. I only hope and pray that it will come into fruition because then I will know that it really is my purpose and I will take pride in it and treasure it as I know it will bring me fulfilment. Do you have a purpose? Think about it, it doesn't mean just going to work and coming home. If you feel empty, there is definitely something missing in your life and that's Jesus, so find Him and don't EVER let go.
