its the 7 february and another telstra man has been out here. he left a message in the mailbox at the bottom of the drive. it tells me the fault has been repaired and since my line is working it might be my own equipment.

he sent me an sms . it says re caSe 126425112 for service 07 etc THE FAULT REPORTED ON 7/12/07 AT 19.35 WAS RESOLVED ON 7/02/08 8.05. THIS CASE IS NOW CLOSED.

YAY TELSTRA !!!! YAY FOR YOU. you said it was fi\xed over a week ago. and you restored the landline but forgot to take the divert off. so now you send out a repairman to fix the already fixed. however the FIXED aint working. People can ring in lovely now but I cannot ring out . not even far enough to top up the prepaid.
Then ring ring - the REPAIRED line rings. TELSTRA INTERIM RETURNS - you might think thats the same as INTERIM FAULTS but NO - its not. They bring me the happy news that my phone is now fixed and THE CASE IS CLOSED. Thank you Michael. Now its up to me to pack the interim phone up having retained the green letter which accompanied it when the courier delivered it. and TAKE IT TO A POST OFFICE.

well you have to - says Telstra.
A courier delivered the thing which worked for 2 weeks or so. but COURIERS DONT COME OUT HERE TO TAKE THEM BACK. Stick that in your pipe. Pardon the suspicious mind. I can't actually ring out at this time.

Nice young woman begins to hunt down something which evidences this as an ongoing problem and begins to find the well hidden trail. THEY at TELSTRA cannot find it easily but WE the CUSTOMERS are supposed to have it all down pat.
She offers to keep the interim on for 5 weeks because now we have a contractor who says it will be finished and cables will be laid by 25 FEB 2008. Yeah right !

Then we go through the Telstra pre paid thing and I cant get the interim until i top up my card and i am not willing to do that. I have no idea how much I have spent since July on Phone and Internet cards and am not willing to do anymore.

So having lost the GREEN LETTER which accompanied the interim phone thing - she gives me an address for pre-paid postage but i still have to go to a post office ( which also doesn't have functional phones by the way ) and return the non working unit so i can live here with the non reliably functioning landline. I DON'T THINK SO.

I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

Vodafone and me will have to do. sux cause skype still is not reliable but there you go !
