Swearing, like WTF?
What is so bad about a single word? Why can't I say "Fuck" (or similarly classified words) without people thinking I'm being offensive?
I understand that those words offend some people. Why? If I say it within an offensive context, then I understand how you can be offended, but still, it's not the word that's offending, it's the phrase.
Fuck (to use a common example) is just a word that means "to have sex with". It's in the dictionary along with all the other words; I don't see why it should be considered taboo.
For fucks sake people, It's just a word!

That spiel that I just read would be considered witty if I was thirteen. Words carry connotations and simply aren't appropirate in certain circumstances.
"Fuck" is associated with negative imagery and those who use the word usually have a reason to use it.
Swearing all the time ruins the effect that the swear word has rendering it useless. The people who don't want your pasty emo ass using the word want their swearword preserved.
Get a real reason to swear then you can swear all you want.

So over using a word makes it less meaningful?
If I made a mistake at something, and I said "oh deary me" it would be the same thing as if I had said "oh fuck" or "oh shit" or something similar.
And I realise that these words carry a negative connotation. Why? What is so evil about these words. Whether speech is offensive or not should be based on the tone of the persons voice.

I recommend that you tell everyone you meet to get fucked or to fuck off.
Then proceed to explain semantics to them.
Good luck.

That would be stupid. I wouldn't know them well enough to tell them to get fucked (unless it was said in a joking fashion). I try to give everyone a chance.

Well no. How can someone find a word offensive? I'm offended (for the sake of this argument) every time you use the word "the". It's stupid!

So emotions are completely separate from language? Are you saying that the word "cunt" doesn't evoke negative feeligns for you?
From a very young age we are told that these words are bad and it's ingrained into us. From a young age we begin to associate these words with negative feelings and getting into trouble.
NIGGER.

Only because we get punished if we say them.
