The Amulet
I've decided to make this like a "To be continued story" I'll add a bit more to the story every week or so. You can even give me some ideas for the story and l'll consider writing it up here.
The soft padding of running feet resounded throughout the silent forest as a woman was sprinting away from her dangerous pursuer. She could be seen flitting through the trees, her blond hair gliding in the air, appearing one moment, shining like a signal beacon – gone the next. Her face was deadly pale with sweat trickling down her face and she turned around now and then to catch the sight of the horned beast that eyed her hungrily. The woman stumbled but hastily returned to her running pace, not taking a chance to glance back. Clutched in her trembling hands was a delicate emerald threaded onto a fine gold chain that glistened as needles of light struck it. The woman’s eyes glanced downwards, checking if it was still in her possession, then returned her eyes to look ahead. The forest was getting thinner now, there weren’t as many trees or bushes as before. Soon she would be at her village and celebrate the miraculous treasure that she had found, a treasure so rare that powerful sorcerers tried and failed to get it and were never seen again. Now she, a common villager, a woman had retrieved the amulet. As she hurried along, she knew that she needed no eyes to know that the beast was gaining on her.
