Five Ways To Save The World

Climate change is being felt the world over and if global warming continues to increase the effects could be catastrophic. This video covers five radical, large-scale ideas that where presented to NASA. The proposals are almost last option solutions if the situation arises that the current problems of Global Warming can't be solved.

When you take a look at the cost, both in dollar terms and in possible side effects, and the fact that these ideas are being tabled in official circles, it is a very important call for action to do what we can now to resolve the issues we face.

In Australia there is currently huge debate and a lot of rejection to the idea of using nuclear power to reduce emissions, when you put the ideas proposed against nuclear it's easy to see that we cant afford to stumble over semantics. It's a case of having to act, not only on nuclear but all alternative green solutions, and act now.

The Video runs for about 60mins and was produced by BBC.

5 ways to save the world (Artificial tree's)

I watched the programme on bbc1 and I like this idea!

There is one thing that puzzled me about this idea that seems quite obvious to me but was not mentioned on the programme.......

Why not develope this technology in such a way that it can be used by the factories who omit large quantities of Co2 into the atmosphere so they can collect it instead of dumpng it in the atmosphere? This alone would lower the level of omissions considerably.

The tree's could then be used as a method of removing the Co2 created by other means such as transport, heating and air conditioning.

I think that the governments of the world should work together to bring in worldwide legislation that makes it compulsery for all businesses and factories with high levels of Co2 omissions to fit machines using this technology to help reduce their omissions!
