11/8/2007 - On a weight loss program

I have just been told that I am overweight for my age (my body is around 28 years old!!!) which was a major wake up call as I have always been fit and healthy except in the last couple of years where uni and work have taken over my life and I really havent been looking after myself all that well. So I have started on an eating and personal training program. Officially I start tomorrow (on the eating side of it) and I am determined to see results by Christmas. Now I know a lot of people have been saying "you're not overweight - you are just fine" - well actually, I am not just fine - I have a history of issues with food - I overeat, eat the same sized meals as my house mates or boyfriends or friends or family. I use food when I am upset or angry or depressed or happy or even just simply bored. I need to develop a healthier relationship with food. My family has a history of Type 2 diabetes and my mum has been an inspiration - going from a size 16 to a size 12 in an effort to become healthier!! There is no way she looks her age!!!

So, wish me luck!!

Good luck!

I was diagnosed with diabetes about a week before Christmas last year. That motivated me to change my eating habits and spend even more time at the gym. Also, there was the motivation of being to cut down the number of injections I needed. (I'm down to one per day.)

I've dropped from 95 kg to 79 kg since then.
