so i finished the social and ethical parts of the project today, as well as dfd, which michelle helped me with a lot, i could not remember how to do a dfd for my life

so according to copyright laws i must acknowledge michelle for telling me:

"put the external thingys around the edges and just cump the process cirlces in the middle somewhere"

i sat down with a laptop in the library today

3 free periods staring me in the face, along with a long way to go in the project

i thought - awesome, so much time, how can i not get a lot done

yet come the end of period 4, my final free for the day, and i am exactly whre i started

all i did in terms of ipt, was open the database a couple times, stare at it, close it, the cycle repeated itself.

i think i have spent the last 3 ipt lessons filling data into the tables for my database

its incredibly boring

and who would have thought it was a little hard to make up all these fake things

subform?

i havent really encounted any problems since restarting my database

except subforms

everyone seems to be using them, but not me

i dont really know why i would need one, it seems to work without it, but it kinda worries me that everyone else uses them

after the talk i was definetly feeling better about the project

but today i realised il just start it again

luckily i dont have to resubmit a stage 1 and 2

that would suck

so i just trashed my old database and started again today

so i went to talk with ms schwartz and weltman today about my database, which they said "lacked depth"

this was really annoying, although, in all honestly i totally agree

my problem was, my initial idea was so complicated, that i think i dumbed this bank idea down to much

now i need a happy medium

the teachers suggested i change my schema to allow for multiple accounts

ive drew this up with them and now need to put it into access

FINISHED!

so i have pretty much finished everything now

at first i had no idea what i was doing in the information in context diagram because i havent done one in ages

i found a couple old ones and worked off those so get me started and they helped a lot.

still not sure of the differences between some of the processes - processing and organising and analysing get me every time

i tried to find an example of a communications report on the internet but i couldnt

i jsut wanted to see if i was doing the right thing, but i think i finished my communication plan today

but i feel like its kind of short but after speaking to other people it seems like everyones is fairly short

so hopefully its alright

i also started mapping out my flowchart today, its pretty confusing and all over the show

but hopefuly when i type it up it will start to make more sense and have some sort of order to it

started the communication plan today

im finding it a bit confusing as to exaclty what it is meant to be

not sure if i am meant to include changed i made to the database

or if i am writing it as if it were day one and no problems have been encountered

just realised, that in my withdrawals and depostis forms, i need to somehow link them so that it corresponds to the correct customer, but im not sure how that can be done!!!!

yesterday i completed my forms, but i keep forgetting to bring my usb which has muy prototype, and because we havent got stage 1 back, i cant remember exacctly what it looks like, so ive basically made a couple forms that work, i just need to format them in the same way myprototype is done

need to do my queries now and then ive got about a week to do all the documentation

been doin some work on the database in access during frees and ive realised i cant really do what the prototype suggested the searches would look like in access. so ive decided to go for a different look

tried to get this to work but it doesnt, dunno whats going on
