| My views only. Im sure most of these things I blog are clear and simple to most, but I had trouble finding and fixing them so Im hoping others do as well and may find this of assistance. Or is that wishful thinking......... Stephen Muller |

Just dealt with a problem with of course an obvious solution, just took me a little while to find it. I was running SPSbackup from the command line it seemed the process finished (I asssumed), there was no feedback at all nothing to say it failed or succeeded. well it didnt suceeced as the backups were not created. The GUI version worked fine though. So how to find out what was happening?. I looked in the event log, there was nothing there. After sometime looking at version ids and things like that it occured to me to look in the Sharepoint Server Central Admin site under Configure Diagnostic Settings. I selected the Back up/Restore then modified it to log all info. I ran the command line again then viewed the log via the Configure Diagnotic Settings, presto problem found. Moral of the story if it is Sharepoint related function look in the Diagnostic Information lits. | ||
