3/11/2008 - How Richard Matheson's I am Legend is an example of Science Fiction

The book that started many adaptations into movies is a perfect example of Sci-Fi. Even though the creatures that attack Neville do not exist today in any way they are results of a disease which was created through scientific experimentation and caused nearly every person to become affected by this disease and their humanity perish and transform into a beast. This was so for nearly everyone except for the immune which survived. This is not possible in present day (as far as we know) but could be possible in the future

I am pleased to hear that you have read the original book upon which I Am Legend is based. So have I. And I also thought that it was vastly superior to the rather over simplified film version with Will Smith. I like very much what you have said in criticism of War of the Worlds - these are valid points and you have been articulate in expressing them. However, you MUST write in sentences to ensure maximum clarity for your words.
