3/11/2008 - How Richard Matheson's I am Legend is an example of Science Fiction

The book that started many adaptations into movies is a perfect example of Sci-Fi. Even though the creatures that attack Neville do not exist today in any way they are results of a disease which was created through scientific experimentation and caused nearly every person to become affected by this disease and their humanity perish and transform into a beast. This was so for nearly everyone except for the immune which survived. This is not possible in present day (as far as we know) but could be possible in the future

3/11/2008 - Impressions of War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds just didnt do it for me. Maybe I was in a bad mood maybe not but all I know is that the Action scenes with the aliens really didnt have much substance  for me and every scene just felt completely transparent causing the whole film to look bare and exposed resulting in me just seeing a movie with a few hugs and kisses and a lot of dakota fanning's annoying screams. I conlude my review with a lame joke but then again Its all this movie deserves. War of the Worlds? (heh) more like War of the Lame (buh bum chhh)

3/11/2008 - The sci-fi genre

Aliens, AI and space ships, your probably already thinking in your mind Sci-Fi. This genre, aka science fiction is basicaly in a nutshell as the name suggests, Science that is Fiction. As simple as it may seem people still tend to get confused between which movies are Fantasy and which are Sci-Fi. The difference is that the things that occur within movies of the Fantasy genre are always going to be impossible but the things that occur within movies of the Sci-Fi genre may be impossible in present day but they are done due to scientific  discovery so may be possible in the future. For example we will never be able to shoot fireballs from the palms of our hands without any scientific explanation but we may be able to find other forms of intelligent life somewhere in the galaxy someday. Some famous examples of Sci-Fi films Include The matrix, I am Legend, The Alien series and i-robot.
