In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:
(60Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS).
As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.
Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant.Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.
Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.
Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.
Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.
Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress.Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you.Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage. Andy Rooney is a really smart guy!
They don't Yell
They don't Tell
They don't Swell
And they are as grateful as hell
He never quite cracked it as a SNAG.
There is one thing I like to see in a woman. When she tells the bloke that He is leaving. I think it's a tragedy that Womens refuges are necessary but fully understand why.
Well done PMCC – that was a worthy comment indeed!
Haven’t really got anything to add to that (smiles) – except always love your visits!
I posted this article for (1. well me! LOL) and 2 & 3 – Rachel (rrmakepeace) and Chezza – both having birthdays this week (check out March Calendar Photos 2007). I hope they both have a great day and receive plenty of birthday wishes from everyone on their respective blogs! Big smiles Dee
I think I make only 1 of them lists, the first one, I have a set of screwdrivers, ( in fact have my own tool belt ) cordless drill ( yep also have a jigsaw and power sander *wicked evil laugh* and have used them all with much enjoyment )
The black lace bra, yep got one of them, well if I didnt wear a bra I'd certainly do myself some SERIOUS damage with the first two, plus my boobs would be dragging in the dirt behind me...
Thanks for the much needed giggle, does almost 40 count? ( 32 in july I am SOOOO close its scary )
Love
Kell
Hey… if you feel that you fit “Man! I feel like a woman”… then you do – which is… “a woman with spunk”! …. and that’s you!
I think you may be wrong by how many you match on the list. I know for a fact that you have friends (at least, if not foremost; definitely here in bloggerland) that should and do make you laugh, and, let you cry. “….. EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW: Where to go… be it to her best friend’s kitchen table…” You’re welcome to rest your bones/bum/boobs at my (blogger) kitchen table anytime, and Chezza may even make the three of us a ‘cuppa’ (s’long as we take turns, ya hear!) LOL.
(*Make sure you remind me for July Photo’s Calendar 2007!). We may live life on the edge and open a bottle of red that night!

Even a man of MY size and self-assurance can be intimidated, and yes you guessed it, those same women that know what they want (and often when and where LOL) are the ones I feel intimidated by, even those whom I have come to know quite well.
Having said that, a woman that knows what she wants ..... mmmmmmmmm, oh so sexy :)
Well it is nice to know that there are some benefits to being a woman who is 40 nearly plus!
Thanks Dee loved the entire post. That 60 mins guy is very intelligent isn't he ;-P
I am thinking that I like being 40 so much so that I think I will stay 40. Do you think that when I am really really wrinkly and I have a blue rinse in my hair to cover up the white (not purple covering the grey) and I am in a nursing home that they will believe that I was born in 2006?????
Thanks Dee,
from the very intelligent nearly 1 year old baby who is just taking her 1st steps but can say and write many words. I am a very smart baby :-)
Definitely a LOT of benefits to this age! Only, like you, I wish it was a like a game show…. ‘wait…wait…. Wait…OK STOP!” ..being able to chose where the timeline is suddenly frozen. They say life begins at 40!... for all of the above points laid out in the post… this is where I agree!
…and Chez… I think they created that dancing, and very smart/clever animated gif baby … with you in mind!!!
ANGELAJAMES: Hello, and welcome back too! Now I know you've(!) had fun, and, been busy - travelling, studies, work and play and least of all - not forgetting your bloggerland mates (at the blog day meet & greet)! It's hard keeping up with you. Big smiles at ya.
RAV: It's always a 'pleasure' to get a man's perspective. Drop by anytime! I certainly hope I'm not one of those 'initimidating' types.. well... unless it's all working for me...LOL Smiles! xox Dee
Your first paragraph - certainly made me smile (I have to agree there... hey *smiles*...why not! Life is too short, not to add a little style/play into/while you work if you can!
And your second.. ... I thought I knew what that meant when I was younger, (and in hindsight..ok, yes I still had a pretty good inkling/grasp of it), but then a decade later I really thought I "ok...yes.. there is even more depth to that concept", then a few years after that - well I can finally say in all honesty - now I know! And, serenely, yes....they are wise words!
I couldn't agree more!!!! Cyberhugs to you and lots of them... (See ALSO lol.. the very lengthy reply) to your other comment under "Leave a comment...or smoke signal". Lots of love xxx ooo Dee
