Not sure where to leave a comment??... then use this article! Scratchpad for bloggers and (shy) friends. I do receive message alerts (email notices of comments left) and I will reply (.....eventually)! Have a great day! Dee
Love those stats. Comments from the BlogNow personalities (like yourself) are very rewarding and discovering more about everyone over time is facinating. A kind of Reality show without being stuck sleeping in a dorm. And the people are real. Not some kids trying to go further than everyone else to get on telly.
Seeing new layouts and experimenting with new ideas is fun too. Ted's series on Science vs Religion opened up the idea that you can pull together a continuing series and really bulk out the material. If you send a letter to the editor, it has to be brief and often doesn't get printed at all. The blog really gives you some room to fully develop your thoughts.
I'm thinking of doing a series on the decline of quality journalism but my knowledge depth is nowhere near as comprehensive as some here. I may still do it and just apologise when I get stuff wrong. Hey it works for Crikey.
Got an email from a (non-blogger) IT guy who just can't seem to figure out (that 'new' look...which of course is now soooo last week's!).
And I quote....."How do you get to it.. its so confusing?". So if its too confusing for an IT guy, then I figure it is just tooooo damn "busy". Actually appreciate his honest feedback though. So, changed my mind once again, (as you do) and have gone for a more minimalist main page (which Ill place in front from time to time) but keep current articles up close and handy depending on my mood. LOL.
(I think I've changed my template at least four times, and have played with my settings and URLS and then changed them back, and have definitely got plans to change them again ha ha)
I think the subject matter you're considering would no doubt be a provocative and debatable one. Blogging certainly does have its advantages, allowing us time to spread our wings and expand on our thoughts and also gain valuable feedback from many. I too love the interractive side of blogging. The fact that it also lacks the demanding focus and drawbacks of dealing with it in 'real-time' (such as with msn or chat rooms) enables it to be an even more enjoyable interest.
Thanks for your comment..Don't be a stranger! (smiles) Dee
Mrs Snowy and I are off to NZ next Thursday so we need the money.
Errr, you are going to keep on going to work, aren't you, ...at least for another month? Think how much joy you are bringing into an old couple's life....
... to think of something good to say wherever possible. Took awhile - I can't imagine bloggerland without you guys for a whole month!!! Agghhh Who will be there to push me with thoughts of '..get to work you slacker'...??
Then a thought hit me..... tomorrow is Fridaayyyy...TGIF!!! and then some! Yay!
Have a great holiday....( are you visiting family?)
Mrs Snowy's brother's wife is a Kiwi, although she has lived in Oz for the last 40 odd years. She and her husband are borrowing her nephew's car to drive around South Island. Last time they visited us, after a looooong session of whisky and XXXX, they asked if we would like to come with them. We accepted, or so Mrs Snowy tells me, and so we're going.
Will miss you guys, too, but am looking forward to boring you all with happy snaps when I return.
G'night to you too, Dee. And roll on Friday night!!!
I know you're stressed at the moment.
Sending you big hugs hun.
Those comments are light hearted and just *a joke joyce*. As with most jokes. Don't be gone longer than a 'smoko break'... we missed you far too long (recently) with your internet probs.
got my grumpy pants on today...no sleep (like you...well you know the story, frickin missile screeching roof landing firecrackers)... and its TOO FRIGGIN HOT!
ooopppsss that was out loud wasnt it?
Well... maybe a little of cyber retail therapy will help.
Im going shopping for a pair (?few pairs) o' grumpy pants! That'll cheer me up. LOL...stay tuned. I'll try and bring back a half dozen or so varying kinds ...and demonstrate/show and post as I find them
If you can preprepare the drinks and munchies it would be good; the plastic tupperware cups are there and throw a few jumbo scatter cushions around - (I think I still have some leftovers of Rinny's "It's Not Easy Being Green" cocktail mix we can get stuck into)........
OOhhh fun... We're gona have a It's Too Friggin Hot Grumpy Pants Theme Day!
You're a stronger man than I, Rav (*beats fist twice to the heart side of chest & sincere look). Go forth and Stay Safe, soldier!
The ice bags should be here by twilight, keeping the beer bottles cool in the laundry sink; all dregs of the cocktail will be thrown in for good measure and should be damn near perfect for a refreshing all over body dunking, by the time you get back!
Hi there Di. Long time no hear. Have you been following my blog about my trip to Italy? Things are coming a long well, but I guess to the observer it is a little ho hum. Do you speak Italian?
Am home this week - then back to Perth for a week, then off to NY and Phily and then back to Perth and then home for a modest amount of time. My my I get arround
comments (none thank you for asking),
pension (what is this, if good, can I have 1),
noises in my head (all the time usually telling me where i have stuffed up and how I can stuff up more),
tired, yawn ( yep)
Dont be a stranger ok? Drop by anytime, (and often I hope). You CAN talk here too of anything you wish to, albeit that its recorded for posterity and the world to see, but why let that little fact worry you.
Miss ya heaps.
Until you can:
1. Reply . and,
2. Find where the hell you left your last comment . I will leave you with some wise tips: .
Things I've Learned From My Cat:
Make the world your playground.
Whenever you miss the sandbox, cover it up. Dragging a sock over it helps.
If you can't get your way, lay across the keyboard till you do.
When you are hungry, meow loudly so they feed you just to shut you up.
Always find a good patch of sun to nap in.
Nap often.
When in trouble, just purr and look cute.
Curiosity never killed anything except maybe a few hours.
Variety is the spice of life. One day, ignore people; the next day, annoy them, and play with them when they're busy.
Make your mark in the world, or at least spray in each corner.
Always give generously; a bird or rodent left on the bed tells them, "I care".
.but I suspect you already know half this stuff
Big smiles and bear hugs xxx Dee
